May 16, 2009 - A Note from Dave: "Nashville and New News"
Hi everyone, ok I know it's been forever since I posted a blog but getting used to life in Nashville has kept me pretty busy. First of all as far as moving here and daily living....LOVE IT! Of course I miss my friends and family back home but the move has definitely been worth it. I would like to announce that I have agreed to terms and have signed a production deal with two of the most successful producers in town. Grammy winning Ed Seay and Russ Zavitson are going to be producing my new EP. I can't tell you how exciting this is for me as many long hours and hard work have gone into getting this deal done. In case you aren't familiar with them go ahead and Google them and let the hit parade start rolling. I'm not even going to start to list their credits as I would be typing all day, but having them behind me and on my team is truly a blessing and the most incredible opportunity an artist could wish for. We are currently in the song search stage, which includes a lot of meetings and listening. It can be quite overwhelming but it's the most rewarding job I have ever had. The songwriters here in Nashville are beyond incredible and so talented and it's an honor to be working with them. I'll keep you posted as we are going to be in the studio soon. As far as daily life, every day brings a new adventure and this town never disappoints. A good example is just finding out that my next-door neighbor of four months since I moved into the new house turns out to be a #1 hit writer for George Strait and Brad Paisley....lol. It's pretty cool to find out that my neighbor wrote my favorite country love song ever!!!! Some other things I have noticed.....no one here I have met so far has ever had or heard of Saganaki (flaming cheese), which all Detroiters know is the perfect food for a late night snack after a night out. There is nothing like having your eyebrows singed off at 3 in the morning ;). I am going to be entering an extremely busy phase of summer including some performances as well as the project. I would just like to thank everyone for their continued support and I am looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend at the hoedown. Well have new merchandise available. Also some Nashville peeps are going to be heading up and it's the first time they will ever see me perform which is exciting. Oh yea, one more thing. Last week Mitch Hotts interviewed me and he asked me an interesting question, he asked my how the reception has been for a Detroit boy down south in Music City? Honestly, it couldn't have been more welcoming and generous. The amount of people down here that have gone out of their way to make me feel welcome is incredible, that includes people within the industry and just friends. Too many to mention, but thank you all for making this Yankee feel at home!!!!!! I guess when it comes down to it, it doesn't matter where your from or who you are....a good song is a good song and has no allegiance to distinctions of whether your north or south of the mason dixon line! Which is pretty cool if you ask me!!!! Peace and I'll write more soon!
Dave

December 03, 2008 - A Note from Dave: "Nashville and Toys for Tots"
Happy Holidays to everyone! I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving, ate too much and had a good nap (just like my Lions did, ugh!) I just wanted to write and fill everyone in on the latest happenings. I can't begin to tell you how exciting it's been lately with all of the time I have been spending down in Nashville. I must say I have met a lot of incredible people there and they have all made me feel very welcome. Musicians and industry executives alike have given me all the encouragement one could ask for as I look to take my career to the next level. Along with my management, we have put together quite a dream team of professionals down there to really get things moving in 2009, truthfully it is shaping up to be my most exciting year as a musician. Without getting into a long story, we are going to be doing some recording in Nashville with some of the most talented songwriters and producers I have ever had the pleasure to work with after the 1st of the year. Along with all of that good news, some members of my team and band from Detroit are going to be relocating down here as well after the New Year! Although things are crazy busy right now getting everything organized, it is truly one of the most exciting times in my life. I just want to thank everyone from my fans, family, and friends for the support and stay tuned cause it's going to be one hell of a ride!
Happy Holidays!
Dave
