Team Shelby gets a new addition…Welcome, Ed!

These are exciting times for me.  With the anticipated release of my new single and EP due out soon, I would like to announce an incredible addition to the Team.  Veteran Sony Records Executive Ed Gertler has come on board to handle the release of the new single, album and video.  His 25 years in sales & marketing at Sony includes the last 10 as the National Director Of Sales for their Nashville label.  Ed has put together an amazing team of radio promoters and other music industry professionals that are going to put their full weight behind this release.  Everyone involved on our team, the band, and especially myself are incredibly lucky to have his expertise and knowledge behind the project and we look forward to much success that takes us to a new level.   I would like to also thank ZMG Music Group President Russ Zavitson for his continued support, advise, guidance, and most importantly his belief in what we are doing.  Having Nashville music professionals of their caliber and pedigree taking me on is an amazing opportunity and an important step in any artists development. I know my fans are anxious and curious about the new music and video, especially those who turned out for the video shoot.  Expect an announcement of the release date soon as so many things need to happen now.  Yes, exciting times for sure and as always I would like to thank the best fans in the world for being patient and always supportive!

David Shelby Records “Tiger Town” for 99.5 WYCD , after a weekend of filming his latest music video

Detroit native David Shelby was recently enlisted to help Detroit’s 99.5 WYCD, winner of the 2012 National Association of Broadcasters’ Marconi Award for Country Station of the Year, record a song to help cheer the American League Champion Detroit Tigers on to victory in the World Series against the San Francisco Giants.  “Tiger Town” is based on the music of Jason Aldean’s “Crazy Town” and features original lyrics, as well as radio highlights from 97.1 The Ticket’s Dan Dickerson and Jim Price.

“I was thrilled to be asked by Jason 300 and Tim Roberts to record this song for WYCD.  I’m a Detroit fan through and through, so what better way to show my support than helping to create a song to further get the Detroit fans to rally behind the Tigers and cheer them on to the World Series Championship.” Shelby noted.

Tiger Town can be heard online at http://wycd.cbslocal.com/2012/10/23/this-is-tiger-town/

You can call 99.5 WYCD and request the song at 313.298.1999

Whew….what a summer it has been!

Well with Labor Day Weekend coming up we are wrapping up our busiest summer ever!  One of the most gratifying parts of our performances has been the fact that we have been branching out and playing some incredible shows out of town.  Caseville Ribstock was a complete blast and the crowd was amazing and hung with us note for note as we all partied into the night.  The Greatest Fourth in the North in Lake City was another highlight for us, the crowd was incredible and the town was so kind to us.  I could mention all of our stops but overall the summer schedule has been a complete success.  I would like to thank all of the promoters, managers, bands we have shared the stage with, but most off all we would like to thank the fans that are coming out to our shows and making every musical experience a great memory!  You all rock and we sincerely appreciate your support and kind words as we have been out and about in your city or town.

For the most part, the summer has been booked up with songwriting and recording.  The new CD is almost here!  Woohoo!  It’s been a lot of hard work but believe me it is well worth it.  The new tunes are AMAZING and I am proud of everyone’s hard work.  We have had the opportunity to record with some great producers and at historic studios like The Castle in Franklin, TN.  I will be posting some teasers after Labor Day and the CD release party is in the works, as well as the video shoot with Joe Virzi from Sony in L.A. directing and producing.  Our fans have been extremely patient and I hope ya’ll dig what we came up with.  I think we really nailed our version of Rockin’ Detroit Grit with Nashville Polish.  September will be a busy month with many Nashville meetings planned and the beginning of our fall tour kicking off at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill in Cincinnati, Ohio on the 29th.

Speaking of touring, this weekend is going to be a hectic but rewarding one!  We have three huge shows scheduled and it’s going to be a blast.  Saturday: We will be returning to Toby Keith’s I love This Bar and Grill in Auburn Hills.  Sunday: We are honored to be headlining the return of one of Michigan’s oldest and finest traditions….The State Fair.  Monday: We end our home tour at Arts, Beats, and Eats in Royal Oak.  I won’t be getting much sleep this weekend but thanks a good thing…haha.  You can get specific show times and details www.davidshelbymusic.com or Facebook.

Be sure to keep up to date with us online and if we are in your neck of the woods come on out, party with us and be sure to say hello!  I hope everyone has an incredible Labor Day and see ya on the road!!!!!!!
