“Thursday Night Live”, a weekly event put on by 99.5 WYCD has become quite a popular event in the area. the premiere country Radio station in Detroit, invites their listeners to come down every Thursday evening, and sit in at the studio with everyone’s favorite evening DJ, Coop. Attendees are welcomes with free food, drinks and a chance to hear a live acoustic performance by some of Michigan’s best up and coming country talent. David, Steve, Brian and Nick were honored to be asked to come down and perform on June 30th.
Over 50 people showed up at WYCD studios for the evening. The studio, being rather small, was jammed full of eager listeners waiting to hear what David and the boys had to offer. Some of the attendees were familiar faces at many of David’s shows around the Detroit area, but many were new to his music.
Shelby commented after the show, “Coop said its the most people they ever had. Way to go David Shelby fans! Y’all are the best! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!”
The evening not only introduced people to David’s down home Southern Rock sound, but also gave attendees a look at how the inside of WYCD works, what you don’t “see”. In addition to the music, WYCD gave away some fantastic prizes ranging from WYCD gift bags, lottery tickets, Tiger tickets and the ultimate concert lovers prices pack with tickets to three different area concerts. David gave away T-Shirts and everyone left with a signed copy of “I Came To Play”, David’s debut CD.
David made his radio debut with his new single, “Cowgirls”, which was hot off the press having picked the finished product up at the studio that afternoon. The guys were beyond flattered by all the positive feedback they received from those in the studio, emails and Facebook messages.
